The Rules

To ensure that everyone feels safe, respected, and supported, we ask all participants to follow these guidelines:

1. Consent is Mandatory

  • All touch must be mutual and consensual.

  • Always ask before touching someone, and respect their answer without question. This rule applies to both group & one-on-one workshops.

  • You may change your mind at any time. Consent can be withdrawn at any point.

  • You don't need to explain. Your consent is yours to give or remove, and you are not obligated to explain your reasons for doing so.

2. Non-Sexual Environment

  • All of our workshops are strictly non-sexual.

  • When in a group environment do your best to put all thoughts of attraction to the side. Our workshops are safe environments and attraction should not play a role in your behavior during activities.

  • Erotic behavior, sexual comments, or sexual contact of any kind is not allowed.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • What happens in the group stays in the group.

  • Those attending these workshops are putting themselves in an emotionally vulnerable situation as they work to improve themselves and their outlooks. Upon entering the group we ask you to put aside the world outside of the workshop, and upon leaving we ask you to bring out only your personal experience.

  • Respect the privacy of all participants. No recording, photos, or videos are allowed unless explicitly approved by the facilitator.

4. Clothing & Comfort

  • During Clothed workshops you should maintain a level of clothing that would be considered appropriate for a "gym" or other casual setting. We suggest comfortable soft clothing that is not restrictive.

  • If you prefer, feel free to bring your own blanket, towel, or mat for hygiene and comfort.

  • Some of our workshops are clothing-free, but your comfort comes first in all workshops so please communicate with a facilitator if you have any reservations.

  • In clothing-free workshops participants must eventually remove their clothing during exercises, so as to not make others feel more exposed than anyone else, but all participants are welcome to step away if it becomes too much for them.

5. Health & Hygiene

  • Please attend workshops showered and well-groomed.

  • Participants should do their best to be scent-free. Strong colognes/perfumes can cause sensory discomfort to other participants.

  • Do not attend if you are feeling unwell. Please cancel ahead of time if you feel you are coming down with a cold, if you are worried about timing please reach out to us directly at bearhugscollective@gmail.com

6. Respect Boundaries

  • Respect physical, emotional, and personal boundaries at all times.

  • Avoid unsolicited advice or critiques about body image.

  • No harassment, bullying, or inappropriate language will be tolerated.

  • Concerns should be brought to a facilitators attention as soon as possible.

7. Participation

  • Join discussions and cuddle exercises at your own comfort level.

  • Be prepared to offer kindness, positivity, and acceptance, while avoiding negative behaviors.

  • You may step out at any time if you need a break.

8. Facilitator Authority

  • The facilitator may pause or adjust the group at any time to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

  • Participants are expected to follow facilitator guidance for group safety.

By joining ANY of our workshops, you agree to abide by these rules and help maintain a supportive, safe, and welcoming space for all participants.
